First Years Enjoy Lunchtime Board Games with TY Mentors

Our First Year students enjoyed a lunchtime board games session today, coordinated by our Transition Year mentors.

The session gave students a chance to take a break from the busy school day, let off some steam and catch up with their classmates while enjoying a variety of board games. There was plenty of friendly competition and conversation, making for a relaxed and enjoyable lunchtime.

The activity forms part of our ongoing First Year/TY Mentoring Programme, which helps our newest students settle into life at Millstreet Community School while building positive connections with older students. Peer mentoring has long been an important part of supporting the transition of First Year students into the school.

The lunchtime board games will now take place every week, giving First Years a regular opportunity to meet, socialise and spend time with their TY mentors.

Well done to our TY mentors for coordinating today's session and to all of our First Years who got involved. We look forward to plenty more games — and friendly rivalries — over the coming weeks!
