APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRINCIPAL TO MCS

Following the conclusion of the recruitment process and appeal period, the Board of Management of Millstreet Community School is delighted to formally announce the appointment of our new Principal, Mr. Iggy Dineen.

Mr. Dineen has significant school leadership and management experience having served as Deputy Principal in Kinsale Community School for the last number of years and in McEgan College, Macroom before that.

We wish Mr. Dineen the very best in his new role with us and also send our best wishes to outgoing Principal, Mr. Pól Ó Síodhcháin as he takes up his new post as Principal of Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí, Bantry.

MCS Board of management

The Board of Management of Millstreet Community School is comprised of nominees from each of our trustees, namely two nominees from the Diocese of Kerry, three nominees from Cork Education and Training Board (CETB) and one nominee from the Presentation Order. There are two nominees from the Parents of Students in the school and a further two nominees from the Teaching Staff of the school. The Principal acts as the Secretary to the Board of Management.

We are very grateful to all our nominees for their voluntary service to the school as members of the Board of Management.

The term of the current Board of Management runs until 31st July 2026

NOTICE OF ELECTION OF PARENT NOMINEES 2026-2029

To be eligible, a Parent/Guardian must have a child currently attending the school. Should nominations for more than two Parent(s)/Guardians be received, an election will need to be held.

As only two eligible nominations were received, the following are deemed elected as the Parent Nominees to the Board of Management 2026-2029: Mrs. Sinéad Murphy and Mr. Michael Thornton
