Millstreet Community School Green Schools Committee Enjoys Fabulous Cycle Day in Killarney National Park
The Green Schools Committee from Millstreet Community School had a truly memorable day on their recent Cycle Day in the stunning surroundings of Killarney National Park. Blessed with great weather and high spirits, the group pedalled their way through some of the park’s most iconic locations, including Torc Waterfall, Muckross House, Muckross Abbey, and the picturesque Dundag.
The day was not only a celebration of sustainable travel and the beauty of the natural world, but also a chance to promote physical activity and environmental awareness—core values of the Green Schools Programme.
The event was made possible thanks to the generous support and hospitality of Cork Sports Partnership and Irish Rail, whose assistance was greatly appreciated by all involved.
Special thanks must also go to teachers Mary O’Doherty and Ciara O’Looney for their dedication and organisation, ensuring the day ran smoothly and was enjoyed by everyone.
It was, without a doubt, a great day out—and a perfect example of what happens when sustainability, education, and adventure come together.
