Senior Teams Continue to Fly the Flag for Millstreet Community School

It has been a hugely encouraging period for senior sport in Millstreet Community School, with our teams competing with distinction across football, hurling and camogie against some of the largest schools in the province.

The Senior Football team produced an outstanding performance to secure a place in a Munster Semi-Final, following a convincing 7-17 to 4-5 victory over Coláiste Daibhéid at the Bishopstown 4G pitch. The result reflected the team’s attacking quality, work rate and composure on the big stage, and represents another significant milestone for the group.

Our Senior Hurlers came heartbreakingly close to reaching a Senior County Final, narrowly losing by just two points to Ballincollig Community School on 8th December at the Banteer All-Weather Sports Complex. In a tightly contested game, the Millstreet side showed tremendous determination and resilience, pushing their opponents all the way to the final whistle.

The Senior Camogie team also competed strongly at county level, despite defeat to Crosshaven on 1st December in Banteer. The players displayed great commitment and spirit throughout the contest, continuing the proud tradition of camogie in the school.

To be competing — and performing — against schools with far larger populations and catchment areas is a notable achievement for Millstreet Community School. These results are a testament to the dedication of the players, the hard work of the management teams, and the strong sporting culture that continues to grow within the school.

Well done to all involved in representing the school with pride in maroon and white.
