ACCEPTABLE UASAGE POLICY CONSULTATION:

Dear Parents and Students,

As part of our ongoing process of School Self-Evaluation, we are updating our Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP). The AUP covers the use of technology, devices, hardware and software in MCS. This policy has been developed using Department of Education and Youth and Webwise Guidelines. Our updated policy will come into effect later this month.

PLEASE NOTE UPDATED PROCEDURE FOR SIGNING OUT STUDENTS EARLY


Students MUST have a note signed by Parent/Guardian on the blue pages at the back of the Journal-this note should NOT be removed.


  1. Prior to 9am, the Student must have this note countersigned by their Class Tutor or Year Head.  In exceptional circumstances, i.e. when neither Tutor nor Year Head are available, the Student may ask the Deputy Principal or Principal to countersign the note.

  2. If a Student asks to leave a class as they are being signed out, the teacher will check that the note in the Journal is a) signed by a Parent/Guardian, and

  3. b) signed by Class Tutor or Year Head or Deputy Principal or Principal

  4. If the note has not been countersigned, the student will not have permission to leave the class and will remain there until collected by a member of the Main Office Staff.

  5. The Student must be signed out by a Parent/Guardian, i.e. the Parent/Guardian must come to the office and sign the Student out.

  6. The practice of collecting a Student form the top of the steps/in the car park is no longer operational.
