Language and Culture Week- Chess Champions!

Aaaron Bourke and Oleksii Shemshur faced off in the school’s first chess tounament final for many years. This was part of the “MCS School Olympics”, a key activity in Language and Culture Week, where students represented all the nationalities represented in the school in several competitive activities. Aaaron represented South Africa, while Oleksii was part of Team Lithuania. South Africa prevailed at the end of a gripping match, with some excellent strategies in both attack and defense from both players. Well done to both players, and congratulations to Aaron on his success.
