Under 16 Hurling Sets the Tone in a Strong Sporting Year at Millstreet Community School
The Under 16 hurlers of Millstreet Community School continued the school’s strong sporting year with a deserved victory in the County Competition, defeating Coláiste Chríost Rí by 5–7 to 1–3. Played in very difficult conditions, the match was a demanding contest, with Millstreet showing control, resilience and teamwork throughout.
This result is part of a positive year so far for sport across the school. At senior level, hurling has seen further progress, with the Senior Hurlers reaching the semi-final stages of both the Munster and Cork competitions. These performances have been built over a number of challenging fixtures and reflect the overall standard being maintained.
Football has also provided strong results. The Senior Footballers have qualified for a Munster Final, while underage football continues to perform well. On Friday last, the Under 15 footballers recorded an impressive win over Coláiste Daibhéid, winning on a scoreline of 3–16 to 6–3.
With success across hurling and football at underage and senior levels, Millstreet Community School continues to compete effectively. The school would like to acknowledge the support of parents and the work of staff throughout the year, and most importantly to congratulate the students involved, whose efforts and performances have made it such a strong sporting year to date.
