MCS Projects Qualify for Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2026
Millstreet Community School is proud to announce that three projects have qualified for the Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2026, which will take place from 7th – 10th January 2026 in the RDS, Dublin. This is a fantastic achievement for the students involved and for their teachers who supported and mentored them.

Project Title: ReThread
Teacher: Ms. Eileen Lyons
Overview:
ReThread is a user-friendly app promoting ethical fashion through a SwapShop, upcycling tutorials, carbon footprint tracking, and insights into fashion’s environmental, ethical, and economic impacts.

Project Title: Lost Lines: What happened to Ireland’s railways, and which should be revived?
Teacher: Ms. Eileen Lyons
Overview:
To examine the Irish rail-system 1920 versus 2025. We will develop an index to determine which train stations/lines are worth reviving using Co Cork initially.

Project Title: Who Will Farm Tomorrow: No sowers today means no harvest tomorrow!
Teacher: Mr. Francy Lyons
Overview:
This project investigates why fewer young people choose farming in Ireland, exploring economic, social, and regulatory barriers, succession challenges, and solutions for generational renewal
