Note from Principal re. New Arrangements After Mid-Term Break

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

As we reach mid-term break, I wish to thank you all for your support since we returned in August. It has been a very busy half-term and we have seen very positive developments in our school in this period. I hope that our students will benefit from the significant facilities upgrades for many years to come. Please note the following arrangements which will be in place from Monday, 7th November 2022:

Canteen:

The canteen will be fully reinstated next week.  All TY & 5th Year students will assemble there in the mornings rather than in the gym.  Morning breaks and lunchtimes will now be fully catered for in the canteen rather than the gym.  We have been two and a half years without our canteen space, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, and it is such a welcome relief to have it back in action. I want to pay tribute to Sheila O’Leary and all her staff in the canteen for their flexibility and adaptability to keep this very important service as a viable part of our school.

Uniforms:

All Students will be expected to come to school in FULL UNIFORM from Monday, 7th November.  The dressing rooms in the gym will be back in use again so students will be expected to bring suitable clothes for PE and to change back into their uniforms afterwards.  The same applies to teams travelling to matches.  Uniform should be worn travelling to and from matches.

The only exception is to those classes that have PE at 9.00 or who have a PE class at 3.20.  The 9.00 classes may arrive in their PE clothes but MUST be in uniform for the rest of the day.  The 3.20 classes are not required to change back into their uniform before leaving the school.

Please ensure you get a break this week. There is much important work to be done during the remainder of Term 1 and into Term 2, we all need to recharge our batteries this week! Have a restful week.

Kind regards,

P. Ó Síodhcháin, Principal
