π TY GAA Future Leaders Awards Ceremony 2025 π
Millstreet Community School is celebrating a remarkable achievement as our Transition Year students have once again received the GAA Future Leaders Gold Award, making it back-to-back wins in 2024 and 2025. This outstanding recognition highlights the continued success and commitment of our school to the GAA Future Leaders Programme. π
The awards ceremony took place last week in the iconic Croke Park, where our students were honoured alongside schools from across the country. Adding to the excitement of the day, they were joined by All-Ireland winning captains Gavin White and Carla Rowe, whose presence was a real inspiration to all in attendance.
When our students, Leanne OβLeary and Eve Murphy, who represented our school so well on the day, returned to Millstreet, they were warmly welcomed by the school community and proudly posed for photographs with Principal Mr. O SΓochΓ‘in, this yearβs coordinator Ms. Sarah Byrnes, and last yearβs coordinator Ms. Eileen Lyons. Both teachers played a key role in guiding their groups to Gold standard, and together with the students, proudly displayed this yearβs and last yearβs awards.
The Future Leaders Programme encourages students to develop skills in leadership, organisation, wellbeing, coaching, refereeing, and media. The back-to-back Gold Awards are a testament to the energy, creativity, and dedication of our TY students who embraced every challenge with enthusiasm.
Millstreet Community School is extremely proud of all our students who represented the school with distinction both in Croke Park and back home. A sincere thank you to Ms. Sarah Byrnes for her outstanding leadership this year, and to Ms. Eileen Lyons for her great work in laying the foundations for this success.
This is a moment of pride for the entire school community. Congratulations to our TY students β you are proof that the future of leadership in sport and community is bright.
