The Millstreet Intermediate Camogie girls’ fantastic run ended at the last hurdle in a spirited Munster Final clash in Newcastlewest against Pallaskenry on Saturday, January 19th. Unusually benign conditions led to a great game with some outstanding performances from both sides. Millstreet fell behind early, 1-3 to no score, and full credit to the girls for showing the resolve to dig deep and pull the game level. Going in 2 points down at the break left it all to play for, but Pallaskenry got the scores when it counted and Millstreet were left disappointed. Still, there’ s lots to be proud of being Munster runners up and with just two leaving the team this year, all looks very positive for next year. Captain Emily and forward Grace have given their all to camogie in MCS and ended their time on a high note, leaving the game in a very positive place in the school, winning the Hayes Cup earlier this year. Well done to the dedicated coaching team of Ms Fitzgerald and Ms. Sheehy.
